The Master in Economics prepares students well for the labor market. With its strong focus on modern data analysis, the program equips students with skills that are highly valued across a wide range of careers. The MSE provides excellent preparation for positions in both the private and public sectors and is particularly well-suited for those considering an academic path. A large share of high-performing students go on to pursue a PhD after graduation.
During your studies, the MSE offers many opportunities to connect with alumni, build your professional network, and get to know potential employers. These include:
- annual field trips
- the Economists Reception
- courses in cooperation with external partners (e.g. TenneT, N-ERGIE or Deutsche Bundesbank)
- guest lectures by practitioners and policymakers (e.g. ECB)
If you are interested in learning more about our alumni and their career paths, you can join the next Economics Reception or visit our website to see who has presented in previous sessions. All presenters are MSE alumni who share insights into how they reached their current positions and what their day-to-day work involves. Our graduates work at institutions such as the ECB, Adidas, PwC, Siemens, Reserve Banks, and research institutes like the IAB.
